Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medical practice that has been around for over 3,000 years. Its origins can be traced back to China and East Asian countries like Japan, Korea, Thailand and Vietnam. The first text about acupuncture where found in a book called Huangdi Neijing or The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine.
The needles are tiny
Acupuncture is a technique in which hair thin needles are inserted into specific points on the skin. This helps for a wide range of physical and emotional imbalances.
A typical acupuncture treatment
At my clinic each treatment is unique and customized to address your specific needs and concerns, so in these terms there is no typical acupuncture treatment. Although in each treatment you’ll start with an intake and diagnosis, then you’ll have about 20-30 minutes to relax while the needles do their magic. The entire treatment takes about 45-60 minutes. Electro-acupuncture and the use of a moxa lamp may also be added to your treatment for additional therapeutic benefits.
